We are sad to announce that, on January 18, 2026, at the age of 95, Janet L. George (Muncie, Indiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the sacred silence of farewell, Janet is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Janet's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry V. Smekens and Helen L. (Groh); and her brothers, Eugene W. Smekens, Richard D. Smekens and Thomas K. Smekens.
She is survived by: her children, Thomas J. George (Donna R. "Sisco") of Anderson, IN., Robert K. George (Bettye "Coghlan") of Franklin, TN., Laurence L. George (Cheryl "Sarno") of Noblesville, IN. and Nancy E. "George" Peters (Brian) of Fortville, IN; and her brother James H. Smekens of Muncie. She is also survived by grandchildren and nineteen (19) great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
