He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Smith and Betty Smith; his wife Dixie D. Smith (Buffin); his brother Gary Smith; his parents-in-law, Raymond and Hester Becket; his stepson Gary Jay Buffin; and his nephew Scott Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Dean Smith, Dale Buffin (Rebekah) and Deleena McCoy (Buffin); his grandchildren, Olivia Buffin, Blaine Buffin, Tricia Linton (Matt), Toshia Wilson (Tim) and Tonnee Wilson (Brittany); and his great grandchildren, Elyza, Jenysis, Maliyah, Brooks, Trenton, Jada, Alexander, Xavier, Amayah, Nakayah and Zion.
Memorial may be directed to Harris Chapel Church of The Nazarene (children/youth ministry) or Selma Christ UMG Church or The Community Foundation of Muncie Indiana.
