He was predeceased by: his parents, Grace Irene and Johnson Claspell-Mason; his wife JoAnn Claspell (Brown); and his siblings, James, Ogal, Paul, Berdina Tirey-Lynch, Wiladean King, Mary Derringer and Naomi Ruth Claspell.
He is survived by: his siblings, Mildred Ridge of Muncie, Reba Burgess of Columbus, Ohio and Charles of Muncie; his children, Malinda Kirby of Muncie, Tina Lunsford of Greencastle, Jonna Ellison of New Castle, Michael Claspell of St. George, Curtis Claspell of Las Vegas and Joseph Claspell of Denver, Colorado.; and his close friend Michael Dunn. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.
