He was predeceased by: his parents, Harrell Phillips and Pat Phillips; and his daughter Debbie. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn; his daughters, Jennifer Ward (Mike) and Jodi Deistler (Ron); his grandchildren, Emily (Brian), Caleb (Kelsey), Anna (Ross), Aaron (Laura), Kyle (Annie) and Kelsey; his great grandchildren, Landon and Stevie; and his sister Julie Hatch. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
