He is survived by: his wife Shawna Nelson; his children, John Nelson Jr. (Liz), Shawnda Kissick (Brian), Jeremy Nelson (Nicki), Joseph Nelson (Deborah), Jacob Nelson and Stephanie Forman (Phil); his grandchildren, Adrianna, Jasmine, Karly, Maleki, Riley, Aries, Stiles, Bella, Ziviah, Larissa, Elijah, Madison, Alex and Harlen; his parents, Sharon Cain and Richard Nelson; his stepfather Larry Dulworth; and his siblings, Kathy Lewis (Doug) and Tommy Dulworth (Kim). He is also survived by two nieces and two nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, June 29th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Calendar Heekin Park (1797 S Hackley St, Muncie, IN 47302).
