He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Esco "Bob" Johnson and Sallie Mae; his siblings, Robbie, William "Edward" Johnson, James Johnson Sr. and Richard "Dickie" Johnson; his brother-in-law Chet Shively; his grandchildren, Jeremy, Nicky J. and Melissa; and his great grandchildren, Anthony "Tony" Johnson and Rhonda Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Lee (Kimmel); his cousins, Kenny Davis, Daryl Davis, Richard Smith and Gary Norris; his sisters, Barbara (late Jim Kirkland), Peggy (late Dave Batio) and Judy (late Charley Daniel); his children, Sherri Kay, Greg Johnson, John Johnson Jr. (Tabby Morton) and Lisa Elliott; his grandchildren, Ciara Ogle (Drew Croyle), Terry Ogle (Carrigan Shook), Mara Johnson (late James Rittenhouse Sr), James Campbell (Nicole), John Johnson III, Ricky Morton and Lindsey Morton (Phil Cooper Jr.); his great grandchildren, Wade Croyle, Colter Ogle, Tanner Johnson, Cayden Hunter, James Rittenhouse Jr., Laylah Rittenhouse, Aubrey Campbell, Hailey Campbell, Abby Cooper and Leighton Cooper; and his close friend Ginger Flick. He is also survived by 7 nephews, 1 niece, 1 great-nephew, 11 nephews and 3 nieces.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Parson Mortuary (801 W Adams St, Muncie, IN 47305). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
