He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver'Doc' Barrett and Martha Sue Barrett; his sister Marla; his brother-in-law John Neff; his uncle Herb; and his aunt Nina Hines.

He is survived by: his wife Kathy; and his children, Andrea Weadick (Joe), Amanda Holzhausen (Brian) and Travis Barrett (Wendi). He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse for Hurricane Helene relief or to the National Association for Gun Rights.
