Joyce leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Joyce’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around her. Though she is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support she offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Joyce will carry forward her memory in their hearts.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Raymond Merchant and Frances Merchant (Reece); her sister Sue Merchant; and her brother-in-law Ralph Morgan. She is survived by: her son Michael Rupe (Jennifer); her sister Rhea Morgan (late Ralph); her grandsons, Zane Rupe, Zeb and Zeth Rupe; and her stepgrandsons, Adam Nixon and Syd Nixon.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Garden View Funeral Home (10501 IN-3, Muncie, IN 47303). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
