He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann Byrd; his children, Staci Hollingsworth (Michael), Christopher Love (Michael), Scottie Byrd and Jerred Byrd (Rebecca); and his sister Kay Byrd. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
