He was predeceased by: his wife Sandra; his parents, Walter and Pauline; and his sister Louise. He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Sollars (Randy), Donna Scheid (Walt) and Brenda Vance (Brian); his grandchildren, Jonathan Lamb (Mollee), Adam Scheid (Angi), Amanda Bender (Chris), Rachel Vance and Daniel Vance; his siblings, Virginia, Phyllis, Susie and Jim; and his friend Sue Long. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
