She was predeceased by: her parents, Glen Grubbs and Edith Grubbs; her husband Jesse W. Wheat of Muncie; her parents-in-law, James E. and Gladys Wheat of Bonham, TX; her siblings, Gaylord Grubbs (Virginia), Melvin Grubbs, Gordon Grubbs, Max Grubbs, Maxine Webb (Jim), Melvaline Andrews (Joe), Eloise French (Bert), Anita Stephens (George) and Ronald Grubbs; her sister-in-law Nannie Mae Bethel (C. L. "Pete"); and her sons-in-law, Ronald D. Watkins and John D. Elwood.
She is survived by: her former husband Bill Smith; her children, Glen E. Wheat (Linda) of Kokomo, David W. Wheat of Muncie, Connie J. Elwood of Highland, MI and Cathie J. Watkins of Muncie; her stepchildren, Ron Smith (Cindy) of Eaton, Sheila Eller (Sam) of Hastings, FL and Teresia Green of Hastings, FL; and her sisters-in-law, Phyllis, Billie and Choon Cha Grubbs. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
