Marie P Beaty Obituary
Marie P. Beaty, 96, of Muncie passed away Thursday, March 6, 2025, at Ball Memorial Hospital with family at her side. Marie was born October 20, 1928, in Jamestown, Tennessee, the daughter of Herbert B. and Ruby M. (Crouch) Price.
Marie is survived by her loving son, Dannie (Dan) R. Beaty (Kris); devoted daughter-in-law Sandra (Sandy) K. Beaty; beloved grandchildren, Bradley (Brad) T. Beaty (Tristan), Benjamin (Ben) T. Beaty and Elizabeth (Liz) Marie Beaty; cherished great-grandson Gabriel (Gabe) B. Beaty; dear nephew Herbert (Herb) A. Winningham; dear nieces Myra K. Chalfant (Gordon) and Patricia G. Price-Garrett (Steve); as well as many cousins and close friends. Marie graduated from the Alvin C. York Agricultural Institute, class of 1947, and married the love of her life, Ralph (Rat) Beaty, on June 26, 1948. Together they relocated from Jamestown to Muncie in 1952. Marie was a longtime member of and contributor to Riverview Church of the Nazarene; and the matriarch of her extended family. Marie was a strong and independent woman, having lived alone for 42 years after her husband's passing in 1983. She was an avid reader and life-long learner. A true homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and gardening. She always loved spending time with her family and friends.
Her faith in God carried her through any hardships and hurdles that came her way. She would say, "The sun will shine again.". She loved to write and always sent cards for holidays and birthdays, or even a little note to let you know she was thinking of you. Marie often said, "I don't know why I am still living except to pray for everyone.". We are better as a result of her faithful prayers. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ruby; husband, Ralph; son, Thomas (Tom); sisters, Frances and Geneva; brother, Paul; grandson, Eric; special nephews, Jim and DeWayne; and great grand-pets, Henry dog and Alvin cat. She outlived most of her generation of family and friends and truly touched the lives of everyone that came into her life. Services will be Monday, March 17, 2025, at Parson Mortuary at 1:00 PM. Friends may call on the family from 11:30 AM until the time of the service. Visitation will be Friday, March 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mundy Funeral Home in Jamestown, Tennessee. Graveside service and burial will follow at Fentress Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Riverview Church of the Nazarene, Muncie.
