We announce the death of Marlene Ann Girton (Muncie, Indiana), who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 85. Marlene Ann will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Hennes and Emily Hennes (Stofko); her husband Melvyn Girton; and her brothers, Jerome Hennes (Carol) and Kenneth Hennes (Pat).
She is survived by: her daughter Monica Lynn Searcy (Philip); her grandchildren, Madelyn Ann Johnson (Austin) and Dylan John Morris Searcy; her great grandchild Maxwell Melvyn Johnson; and her brothers, Harold Hennes (Pat) and Leo Hennes (Sara). She is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (1200 W Riverside Ave, Muncie, IN 47303). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to A Better Way of Muncie; American Cancer Society; American Heart Association or St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
