She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin B. Thornburg and Ethel Jean Thornburg (Roberts); and her brothers, Robert Benton "Bob" Thornburg and David Ross Thornburg. She is survived by: her son Jeremiah Shuman (Rachel) of Mississippi; her granddaughter Breanna Shuman of Mississippi; and her sisters, Julia Dotson (Terry) of Anderson, Susannah Rosenthal of Muncie and Lois Thornburg (Mick) of California. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
