Orpha Dewitt Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Orpha Dewitt (Muncie, Indiana), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 22, 2025 at the age of 76. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Irene Penix and Wash Penix; her significant other John "Toot" DeWitt; her sister Tina Wise; and her brother-in-law Dave Shelley.
She is survived by: her son John Eric DeWitt; her grandchildren, Orion DeWitt, Luke DeWitt and Gracie DeWitt; her son Dr. Matthew DeWitt; her grandchildren, Evan DeWitt J. D. (Brittany), Emily DeWitt and Addison DeWitt; her siblings, Ted Penix (Pam), Ronnie Penix (Susie), Charlotte Shelley, Mary "Lou" Morrison and Darlene Kirby; her close friend Becky Adams; and her brother-in-law Bob Morrison. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, in-laws.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Meeks Mortuary and Crematory - Washington St. Chapel (415 E Washington St, Muncie, IN 47305). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, May 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Beech Grove Cemetery (1400 W Kilgore Ave, Muncie, IN 47305).
