He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Poland and Dora Poland; his brothers, Robert Poland (Roberta) and Don Poland (Jenny); and his nephew Terry Jack Poland.

He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Ray of Muncie; his children, Chris Poland of Muncie and Becky Jump of Houston; his grandson Kelly Jump of Los Angeles, CA; his brother Bill Poland (Jayne) of Muncie; his nieces and nephews, Debbie Osborn (Vic) of Avon, IN, Phyllis Barton of Muncie, Doug Poland (Robin) of Dunkirk and Sam Poland of San Antonio, TX.; and his brother-in-law Charlie.
