He was predeceased by: his parents, Otis Covington and Vivian Covington (Ockomon); his former wife Zelma Covington (Hodge); his siblings, Thomas "Tommy" Covington, Carol Parkhurst and Dorothy Simmons; his stepchildren, Tina Long, Shirley Dugger, Mike Parkhurst, Mary Parkhurst, Randall "Red" Parkhurst and Bryan Johnson; and his pet Buttons.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Covington (Hahn); his brother Mike Covington (Doty); his children, Rusty Covington (Brenda), Randy Covington, Robin Thrasher (Guy) and Lori Covington; his stepchildren, Orie Parkhurst, Christine Brown (Scotty), Keith Johnson (Kelly), Bradley Johnson (Rita) and Michelle Darnell (Mike); and his pet Tommy. He is also survived by several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Garden View Funeral Home (10501 IN-3, Muncie, IN 47303). A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Monday, November 2nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Memory Cemetery (10703 IN-3, Muncie, IN 47303).
