He was predeceased by: his parents, William Dowd (Willie) and Rowena Dowd (Mays); his wife Patricia; his daughter Kristy Dowd; his brother Jeffrey Dowd; his siblings-in-law, Corinne Dowd, Vonnie Rondo and J. A. Beck; his close friend Jerry Osborne; and his pets, Mickey and Missy.

He is survived by: his sons, Douglas Dowd (Dawn) and Kenton Dowd (Annie); his grandchildren, Kristopher Dowd (Danielle), Daylene Gentry (Andrew), Kari Roszell (Kegan) and Sydney Dowd (William); his great grandchildren, Kolten Wynn, Jaxon Dunn, Declan Dowd, Aria Dowd, Kenna Roszell, Wiley Balint and Nora Gentry; his brothers, Michael Dowd (Susan) and Randy Dowd (Deb); and his sister-in-law Marlene Beck.
