He was predeceased by: his parents, Willard George Cooper and Samaria Williams Cooper; his parents-in-law, Louis and Kathleen Jeep; and his brother-in-law Stevan Jeep.

He is survived by: his wife Susie Cooper; his children, Carol Dingle (Lee) of Indianapolis, Clay Cooper (Sharon) of Chicago, Scott Cooper (Sharon) of Plymouth and Mitch Cooper of Muncie; his grandchildren, Christopher McGee, Colin Dingle, Lillian Dingle, Quin Cooper, Kendall Cooper, Melanie Cooper, Jessie Cooper, Austin Cooper, Caleb Cooper, Caden Cooper, Arora McGee and Austin Cooper Jr. (Scotty); and his sisters, Sonda Taylor (Joe) and Sheila Cooper.
