He was predeceased by: his parents, William Oscar and Iva Cooper (McGlone); his wife Dorothy Atchley; his siblings, William Cooper, James Cooper, George Cooper and Audrey Strouse; and his son-in-law Jesse Davis.

He is survived by: his children, Gary Cooper (Deanna) of Leesburg and Kathy Davis of Muncie; and his sisters, Martha Swartz and Edna Elbon (Gary). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Garden View Funeral Home (10501 IN-3, Muncie, IN 47303). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Memory Cemetery (10703 IN-3, Muncie, IN 47303).
