She was predeceased by : her husband Gerald Huizenga; and her parents, Elzo Nieboer and Jennie Nieboer. She is survived by : her children, Christy Van Genderen (Bud), Gerald Huizenga (Kathy), Mark Huizenga (Lucinda), Brian Huizenga (Karen) and Alan Huizenga (Mary); and her siblings, Guelda Klooster (late Fred) and Meredith Adams (late Lawrence).

Visitation was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Smits Funeral Home (2121 Pleasant Springs Ln, Dyer, IN 46311). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 26th 2024 at the Oak Ridge Cemetery (1966 Thornton Lansing Rd, Lansing, IL 60438).
