She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Crites and Arlene Crites. She is survived by: her husband Robert Miedema; her children, Janet Hawkins (Mike), Laurel DeYoung (John) and Warren Miedema (Kathy); her grandchildren, Beth Koppers, Allison Hawkins, Christopher DeYoung (Megan), Kyle DeYoung, Kelly Saenz (Andrew), Eric Miedema (Sara) and Matthew Miedema (Kim); her great grandchildren, Jackson, Landon, Jordyn, Lily, Ava and Zoe; and her siblings, Allan Crites (Grace), Paul Crites (Barbara) and Arlene O'Connor (late Frank).
Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of the Calumet Area (600 Superior Ave. Munster, IN 46321) where Carol and her family were well cared for, or St. Paul Lutheran Church (1407 W. Church Rd. Beecher, IL 60401) who lost their church building recently to a fire.
