He was predeceased by: his son Dennis Pursel; and his parents, Dennis Pursel and Mary Pursel. He is survived by: his wife Irma Pursel; his children, Ruth Ortiz (Tom) and Christopher Pursel (Brittney); his grandchildren, Eddie Ortiz, Nathaniel Ortiz, Lia Ortiz and Arya Pursel; and his brothers, Richard Pursel (Janet) and William "Billy" Pursel (late Jacqueline). He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
