He was predeceased by: his parents, John Daniel and Helen Amelia McCarthy; his brother Thomas Edward Stankas; his grandparents, Agnus and Steve Butkus; and his niece Baby Girl Stankas.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Ann McCarthy; his children, Michael McCarthy (Kayla) and Jaclyn Knight (Jordan); his grandchildren, Brody, Austin, Colin, Gianna Knight, Braydon McCarthy and William; and his siblings, Donald Stanley Stankas and Virginia Marie Stankas Orlof (Don). He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and sister-in-laws.
