He was predeceased by : his parents, John J. Fahey and Margaret Fahey (Freer). He is also survived by his family and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Clement Catholic Church (642 W Deming Pl, Chicago, IL 60614). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 10:45 AM and from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Clement Church or to the University of Chicago Alumni Association.
