He was predeceased by: his parents, George and Lucille (Hildebrand); his uncle Harold; his aunt Elenor Gifford; his children, Patricia Amptmeyer (Metten) and Paul; his grandson Miles Braun; his sister Lou Ann Hicks (Metten); and his brother-in-law Arthur Grass (Sandi).

He is survived by: his wife Darlene Metten (Grass); his daughter Leslie Braun (Stephen); his stepchildren, Lisa Schoon (Ryan), Nick Pupillo (Ray Crooks) and Michael Pupillo; his nephew John Hicks; his cousin Terry Langohr; and his grandchildren, Sawyer, Aviva, Finn, Harper, Mittica, Lucca and Rocco.

The family asks, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital.
