He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Sopko and Dorothy Sopko; and his brother Ed Sopko. He is survived by: his wife Donna; his children, Marcy Smitka (Bill), Tim Sopko (Jenni) and Mandy Holloway (Brian); his grandchildren, Addison, Reese, Jack, Billy and Tessa; his brother William Sopko (Judy); and his pet Caly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer society or Ridge United Methodist Church.
