She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Aker and Anna Marie Aker (Murphy); her husband Robert Birkey; her son James Birkey; and her siblings, Marie Redman, Frank Aker, Jr. and Rolland Aker.

She is survived by: her children, John Birkey (Debbie) of Bremen, Jeanne Yoder (Denny) of New Paris and Jackie Marsh (Mark) of Bremen; and her daughter-in-law Julie Birkey of Bremen. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Arlene Birkey may be donated to World Missionary Press, 19168 County Road 146, New Paris, IN 46553.
