He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Linhart and Julia Linhart; and his former wife Enid. He is survived by: his wife Marian Lehmer Linhart; his children, Dr. Terry Linhart (Kelly) and LeAnne Koteskey (Keith); his grandchildren, Lauren Conrad (Austin), Jayson Linhart (Taylor), Tyler Koteskey (Hannah), Sean Linhart (Grace) and Kristen Koteskey; and his siblings, Marjorie Coleman and Rev. Bruce Linhart.

“I was saddened to learn of his passing just days before Dale and Marian's wedding anniversary. I had just purchased an anniversary card and found out later that day from Rita Ransom that he was gone. I always thought God sent him to our church to broaden our horizans concerning missions and have always been thankful for the vision that he had. During this time our youngest son, Brent, had the call to be a missionary for which we've always been grateful.”
