He is survived by: his wife Margaret Wenger-Crilow of Nappanee; his daughters, Justine Crilow of Nappanee and Kelly Benson (Travis) of Sioux Falls, SD; his grandchildren, Rylee Stachel (John) of Stillwater, MN, Sydney Micka (Jonathan) of St. Paul, MN, Clare of Sioux Falls, SD, Emeric of Sioux Falls, SD and Dominic Benson of Sioux Falls, SD; his stepchildren, Chad Wenger (Judy) of Queen Creek, AZ, Curt Wenger (Renee) of Elkhart, Jamie Wenger (Ali) of Elkhart and Nikki White of Elkhart; his stepgrandchildren, Brandon Wenger (Mariah) of Queen Creek, AZ, Dean Wenger (Kenzie) of Queen Creek, AZ, Caitlyn Chupp (Josh) of Ligonier, IN, Tyler Wenger of North Manchester, IN, Presley Whitaker of Elkhart, Reagan Whitaker of Elkhart, Heston Wenger of Elkhart, Taylor Konrath of Union, MI and Hunter Konrath of Elkhart; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Bo Wenger, Rook Wenger, Ford Wenger, Mason Chupp, Joshua Chupp and Tate Chupp; and his siblings, Shirley Albrecht of Goshen, Dorothy Schreck of New Paris, IN and Larry Crilow (Kim) of Goshen. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 11th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, September 12th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 12th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Yellow Creek Mennonite Church (64901 Co Rd 11, Goshen, IN 46526).

Memorial Contributions in Ernie's name can be given to Mennonite Disaster Service through Yellow Creek Mennonite Church.
