He was predeceased by: his father Tom Ayers; his wife Sondra Wilson Ayers; his parent Maye Edens Ayers; and his brothers, Tommy Charles Ayers and Aubrey B. Ayers.
He is survived by: his sons, D. Kenneth Ayers (Betsy) of New Albany, IN. and Timothy A. Ayers (Irene); his grandchildren, Andrew S and Lucy S. Ayers; and his brothers, Norman Keith Ayers, Dennis Dwayne Ayers, Charles Wayne Ayers and Michael Gayle Ayers.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Market Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes (1119 E Market St, New Albany, IN 47150). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at the SCI Graceland Memorial Park (2778 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, IN 47150).
