He was predeceased by: his father William Schmelz; and his brother Norman Miller. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Schmelz; his mother Mary McGarvey; his stepmother Sue Schmelz; and his siblings, Brian Miller (Victoria), Martin Schmelz, Daniel Schmelz (Cherie), Richard Schmelz and Tina Williams.
