David Scott Obituary
We announce the death of David Scott of New Albany, Indiana, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 76. David will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ellsworth Scott and Estella Scott (Hilton); his significant other Paul McCoy; and his brothers, Ellsworth "Buddy Wayne" Scott and Michael Scott.
He is survived by: his siblings, Drucilla Thompson, Donna Atkins, Daniel Scott (Debbie) and Brenda Prather; and his sister-in-law Connie Scott. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150). The military honors will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at the Chapel Hill Cemetery (6940 Chapel Hill Rd, Borden, IN 47106).
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul's memory may be made to the Louisville AIDS Walk (http://www.causes.com) or the New Albany-Floyd County Animal Shelter (215 W. Market Street, New Albany, IN 47150).
