He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph R. Smith and Irene L. Smith (Lewellan); his brother Paul Smith; and his son Chad Smith. He is survived by: his wife Debra Smith (Ingram); his sons, Toby Smith and Cory Smith (Jessica); and his stepdaughter Karen McClive (Rick). He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; and many extended family.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
