He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilfred L. "Grinner" Day and Marie M. Day (Bachman); his wives, Barbara Gayle Day (Roy) and Joyce Brooks Day (Harpe); and his stepson Jeffrey Brooks.
He is survived by: his sons, Dr. Chris Day (Ann) and Steve "Lefty" Day (Lisa); his stepson David Brooks; his grandchildren, Alex Day (Kristin), Erich Day (Taylor) and Morgan Day; his stepgrandchildren, Charlie, Colin and Spencer Brooks; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Maya and Wesley Day; and his siblings, Carol Ullrich (Ed), Wilfred "Sonny" Day and Jerry Day (Lin). He is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of donations in Don's name to St. Elizabeth Catholic Charities, Our Lady of Providence High School, and St. John Paul II Catholic Church.
