He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Hammel and Bertha Hammel; his sister Betty E. Disinger; and his half-brother Raymond Hammel. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Anne Hammel; his children, Dennis Hammel (Tina) and Julia Hammel-Furlong (David); his grandchildren, Tyler Hammel, Jordan Hammel, Morgan McCutcheon (Dennis), Madison Hammel and Elizabeth Furlong; and his great grandchildren, Kase Hudson McCutcheon and Kole Walker McCutcheon.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Kraft Funeral Service (2776 Charlestown Rd, New Albany, IN 47150). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 5th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
