He was predeceased by: his parents, Rodman Short and Altie Short (Jones); and his siblings, Herbert, Rodman, Jr., John, Kenny, Ruby, Sandra, Linda, Phyllis and Beverly.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Short (Staton); his children, Steve (Cindy), Terri Goodwin (Kevin) and Bonnie Griesinger (Juan); his brothers, Billy (Carlotta) and Donnie (Terri); his grandchildren, Stephanie Griesinger (Jeremy), Dale Griesinger (Kelsey), Abby Short, Chris Short (Kelsey) and Jessica Goodwin; and his great grandchildren, Braden, Traci, Lukas, Keegan and Colten. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
