In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy John leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though John may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Evelyn Kauchak and Stanley Kauchak. He is survived by: his wife Libby Kauchak; his children, Lisa Sterner (Mark), Lee Kauchak (Diane), Greg Kauchak, Richard Kauchak (Thu-Ha) and Wayne Kauchak (Lara); and his sister Kathryn "Kitty" Thompson. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Market Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes (1119 E Market St, New Albany, IN 47150). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church (1752 Scheller Ln, New Albany, IN 47150).
