She was predeceased by: her parents, Emil Kirchgessner and Irene Kirchgessner; her husband James A. Fessel Sr.; and her son-in-law John Austin. She is survived by: her children, Gina Carter (Jim), Janice Mallory (Dennis Oster), Jennifer Austin and James A. Fessel Jr. (Peggy); her grandchildren, Amanda Marks (Michael), Kelly Lehman (Dan), Christopher Carter (Tessa) and Kaelin Carter (Zack McDaniel); her great grandchildren, Makayla Rose Marks, Zoie Carter, Arlo Carter and River McDaniel; and her siblings, Martha Rhoades and Al Kirchgessner (Betty).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kraft Funeral Service (708 E Spring St, New Albany, IN 47150). A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Family Catholic Church (129 W Daisy Ln, New Albany, IN 47150). A committal service will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Catholic Cemetery.
