He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester VanMeter and America VanMeter (Carroll); and his brother Clyde VanMeter. He is survived by: his wife Janat VanMeter (Drake); his daughters, Carri Francis (David), Emily Blevens and Jill Maples (Aaron); his grandchildren, Morgan, Emma, Tripp, Reese, Adalyn, Josie and Millie; and his siblings, Johnny VanMeter (Mary) and Polly Poole (Tom).
The family asks for donations to be made to the Saint Labre Indian School, Wayside Christian Mission (Meals for the homeless), and The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee.
