Shirley Jean Bedan Obituary

We bid farewell to Shirley Jean Bedan (New Albany, Indiana), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 10, 2025 at the age of 80. Shirley touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Though Shirley may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Shirley touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Delbert "Curly" Bowman and Dorothy Bowman Scully (Albertson); her husband Wayne Edward Bedan; and her sisters, Patricia Jones and Jayne Dennison.

She is survived by: her daughters, Tamara Dodge, Kelly Bedan and Sarah Smith (Steven). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 14th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150). A Mass will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church (639 S Shelby St, Louisville, KY 40202).
