He was predeceased by: his parents, Willia Wheat and James Wheat; his wife Sharon Minor Wheat; his grandson Michael Tanner Wheat; and his brothers, Perry and James Wheat.
He is survived by: his children, Michael Wheat and Theresa Cole (Harold); and his siblings, Jerry Wheat and Shirley Elmore (Rex). He is also survived by 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
