He was predeceased by: his father Volney Austin; his son Victor Todd Austin; and his sisters, Connie Warman and Kay Smith. He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his children, Tina Batten (Tim) and Jeffrey Austin (Nikki); his stepchildren, Jeremy Barnicott and Leanne Barnicott; his brother Rodney Austin (Connie); his aunt Norma Whiteman; and his cousin Joanne Reed. He is also survived by grandchildren.

Donations made in Steve's memory may be forwarded to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
