Steven Melnyk Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Steven Melnyk of New Carlisle, Indiana, who passed away on July 1, 2025, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Steven may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore S. Melnyk and Lois Melnyk (Allen); and his sister Toni Sydow. He is survived by: his daughters, Heather Melnyk (Ally Kazmucha) of San Jose and Holly Sipes (Jeffrey) of New Carlisle, Indiana; his grandchildren, Sadie Liggett of New Carlisle and Dylan Liggett of South Bend; and his brother Theodore "Ted" Melnyk (Jill) of La Porte, Indiana.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel (418 Washington St, Michigan City, IN 46360). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the same location.
