He is survived by: his wife Suellen Lowery; his brother Max Jan Ernstes (Marilyn) of Manilla, IN; his sister-in-law Carol Lowery of New Castle; his nephews, Chris Ernstes (Marcia), Kurt Ernstes (Kim) and Nick Ernstes (April); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Seth Ernstes, Joel Ernstes (Jasmin), Kristen Cowan (Jonathan), Jared Ernstes and Paige Ernstes.
