He was predeceased by: his parents, Benny Brookshire and Hilma Brookshire (Lassen); and his sisters, Brenda, Beverly, Ruth, Emma, Harriet and Marie.

He is survived by: his nieces, Joyce Swope (David) and Carol Ballard (Harland Cole). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins.
