She was predeceased by: her parents, George W. Shelton and Bertha L. Shelton (Butler); her husbands, Ted Van Poppel and Kenneth "Monty" Montgomery; her sister Betty Shelton; and her close friend Joe Lee.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Theodore B. Van Poppel (Donica) of Ocala, Jack "Sonny" Montgomery of Chicago, Peggy Whitson (Marty) of Tennessee, Allen Montgomery (Jaran) of Aurora and Dawn Jones (Terry) of New Castle; her stepgrandchildren, Pamela Ann Van Poppel of Ocala, Florida and Theodore B. Van Poppel, Jr. of Ocala, Florida; and her sister-in-law Elsie Gray of Ohio.
