She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Wilson and Gertie Wilson (Taylor); her husband Ernest E. Johnston; her granddaughter Karrena Johnston; and her siblings, Mallie Kidd, Juanita Wilson, Arthur Wilson, William Wilson, James Tommy Wilson (Janie) of New Castle and Virgil Lee Wilson.
She is survived by: her children, James G. Johnston (Sherrell) of New Castle and Tonya L. Thompson (Scott) of New Castle; her grandsons, Bryce and Brayden Thompson of New Castle; her stepgrandchildren, Shannon Fields (Stephanie) of Muncie and Shasta Williams (Marvin); her sisters, Jean Dobbs of New Castle, Faye Daily of Ft. Wayne, Joyce Davis (A. J.) of New Castle and Brenda Phelps (Jerry) of Bronston, KY; Peyton, Alexis Fields, Savannah and Griffin Williams of Yorktown. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
