He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Randyll and Hyacinth Kern (Cain); his wife Kathy Ann Kern; his siblings, Carolyn Sorrell, Ronald Kern and Stephen Kern; and his nephew Robert Allen Sidwell.
He is survived by: his son Randyll Wade Kern of New Castle; his grandchildren, Kaulin Kern and Allison Kern of New Castle; and his siblings, Diane Blankenship of New Castle, Elaine Addison of New Castle, Sheila Sidwell of Celina, TN, Clarence Kern (Linda) of New Castle and David Kern (Susan) of Burkesville, KY. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
