He was predeceased by : his parents, Dr. Clemons Waldemar and Frances Dahling (Bardonner); and his brother Dr. Carl. He is survived by : his wife Suzanne E. Dahling (Foelber); his children, Rev. Daniel Dahling (Tamara) of New Haven, Mary Easterday (Steve) of Roanoke, Christina Kiani (Shahrom) of Onolaska, WI, Kathryn Barnard (Larry) of Fort Wayne and Ruth Roberts (Troy) of Naperville; his sister Carolyn Kroeger of Sun Lakes, AZ; and his grandchildren, Joel Miller (Anna Neal), Henry Dahling, Lydia Cseh Dahling (Gabor), Rosemary Calabro (Vincent), Alexandra Wilburn (Trent), Maryfrances Siegel (Scott), Victoria Barnard, Nicole Roberts, Derek Roberts, Yasmine Kiani and Arman Kiani.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials are to Central Lutheran School Endowment Fund, Concordia Lutheran High School Education Foundation, or the Indiana University Foundation to benefit the IU School of Medicine, Fort Wayne Campus.
